Object history
Andreas Mussard was a member of a numerous Genevan family of goldsmiths; he worked at the Hague, 1740-58. Long records a miniature dated 1755 which was presumably by him, though the signature had been read 'Andreas Mussaro'. The Holburne of Menstrie Museum, Bath, has a miniature by Mussard, signed, and dated 1751.
