Tissue stereograph, using the albumen printing process, depicting a tableaux in a harem setting, a group scene in the 'Exotic' court. A central male figure is shown reclining with male and female figures around him. Hand-coloured on the reverse and intended to be viewed as a transparency as the tissue has been lightly pricked at the positions of the candles in the image to give the effect, when held to the light, that the candles are alight and glowing. Lettered on the back with a name.
