Bibliographic reference
Catalogue of the Constable Collection, Graham Reynolds, Victoria and Albert Museum, London: HMSO, 1973, pp. 119, 121 The following is an extract from the text of the entry: The inscription had been read Findon (Sussex) until Key, p. 54, pointed out that the scene represented is the churchyard of St. Mary's, Hendon. Note on Nos. 164, 166, 167, 168, and 170 [267-1888, 264-1888, 276-1888, 275-1888, 307-1888] Nos. 164, 166, 167, and 168 [267-1888, 264-1888, 276-1888, 275-1888] evidently come from the same sketch-book, measuring 4 x 5 ¼ ins.
