In the form of a small, pale purple coloured booklet decorated with applied, embossed, lace paper, partly gilt. The front cover has an oval colour lithograph of a bunch of forget-me-nots; the back has an engraved scroll within an oval, bearing the words ‘I LOVE YOU’. Inside the front cover there is an embossed garland of flowers with the words ‘A NEW YEAR’S BEST WISHES’ in the centre. Opposite this, four embossed, lace paper flaps open to reveal an envelope with an oval colour lithograph of a Chinese boat on a lake, in an embossed cartouche. Inside this envelope is a smaller plain envelope containing aromatic powder.
