Drawing study in pencil, lightened with white chalk for the oil painting 'Playing at Work'. There are three figure studies. First two variations of a girl with plaits, standing but bending over slightly and facing away, this is a link to the figure of a girl on the far left of the painting. The third figure study is of a woman from the waist down, of her skirt and bare feet, this is a link to the third women from the left in the painting.
