  • Anton Prinner (1902-83) was an artist and sculptor from Budapest who spent most of his life in Paris. From 1927, he transitioned from female to male and moved in artistic circles alongside other Constructivists and Cubists, notably Picasso, Árpád Szenes, and Maria Helena Vieira da Silva. Picasso called him the "petit pivert" (little woodpecker) and would introduce him to people as 'the small man who makes large statues'. Between 1947 and 1949, Prinner illustrated sixty-six tablets of the Egyptian Book of the Dead. In 2019, the National Art Library acquired a copy of 'La Femme Tondue' (1946) containing 8 prints.
  • Another version of this print was sold at Rieunier & Associés S.A.R.L, Paris, in 2013, as a papyrograph with the title 'Squelette' and the date of creation given as 1935.
