Dress fabric, printed "batik" style cotton with the main pattern in two vertical rows:
a) on an olive green ground with scattered areas of "resist" white , with an overall pointed star grid pattern in black, there are at regular intervals (I) small circular forms with bead/pearl frames enclosing 8 pointed stars in blue, white and rust brown; (ii) two-lobed oval forms with a curving tail on a white ground, again in blue and rust brown; and (iii) pairs of curving leaf sprays in blue and rust brown, interrupted by 2 conjoined "conch" shell forms:
b) on a deep blue ground, small 6 pointed stars framed by 2 winged motifs with scattered birds, butterflies and moths. Rust brown, green and white prevail.
Uniting the two rows are large leafy forms separated by paired oval forms. Two selvedges.
