    Object history
This is the first of a suite of six prints, made in 1974 and printed and published by Simca Print Artists of Tokyo and New York. (The company was run by Hiroshi Kawanishi and the master printer was Takeshi Shimada). The prints are related to paintings of 1973/74 with the same titles. They have between 7 and 9 screens each. The character printed in black at lower left gives the colour-name of the title, and the ‘signature’ stamp at lower right is a phonetic rendering of ‘Lancaster’. See Circ.621 to 625-1975.
