Physical description

Portrait, three-quarter length, of the actress Sarah Bernhardt (1844-1923), facing half-left, wearing a lace collar and cape. In the upper left of the plate is a study of her head in left profile; in the lower left corner is a similar study, showing her wearing a hat.
