Object history note
Lady Palmer was the widow of Sir Elwin Mitford Palmer, KCB, KCMG, Governor of the National Bank of Egypt around 1900. The photographs were given to Sir Elvin Palmer when he lived in Cairo. He moved to Egypt in 1855 and died there in 1906. Lady Palmer was a great niece of Julia Margaret Cameron.
