Physical description
Ink, pencil, wash, and watercolour drawing on paper. The drawing is a lesson in perspective showing a method of drawing towers from a point above them. A rectangular watercolour illustration is located near the top centre of the larger drawing. A tower with a waving man is situated in the right foreground while four other towers with other figures on top of them and scattered on the ground below make up the middle ground. The soft background is made up of a variety of colours depicting distant land, skies, sun, and birds. A tall grey tower rises into the foreground of the watercolour painting from the drawing area outside of the inset. A backwards facing man is depicted on its top, facing into the watercolour landscape. The sketching and drawing that surrounds the watercolour illustration is made up of curving, diagonal, vertical, and horizontal lines that extend and meet at different dimensions of the painted towers. These lines are in a variety of grey and black shades and washes and in solid and dotted lines.
