ca. 1350 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This white marble statuette The Virgin and Child is made by an unknown artist in ca 1350 possibly in France.

Although there are points of contact with 15th century Burgundian figures of the Virgin and Child, certain features, such as the type of Christ-Child, the face of the Virgin and the manner in which her hair is treated at the back, suggest that this sculpture is slightly later and may not be French.
