In the Forest of Fontainebleau, October 1932

Photograph
October 1932 (made)
Place of origin

These pages come from a set of five albums meticulously assembled by a French family in the first half of the twentieth century. The family’s surname has not been identified but evidently they were well-off and had a passion for both cars and photography. Here, father and son, both named Paul, strike identical poses – down to the cigarette
– in front of an automobile. Cars in various
settings feature throughout the albums, sometimes
accompanied by other family and friends.
