Salvador Allende (1908-1973) was President of the South American nation Chile from 1970 to 1973. In 1973, he was murdered during General Pinochet's brutal military coup which led to the installation of a military dictatorship in Chile. Allende was a political activist committed to the socialist cause. His unwavering political ideology made of him a hero in Latin America. This Cuban poster commemorates the political and social contributions Allende made during his lifetime.
