Cutting from a Gradual. Initial R in pink on a blue ground with a burnished gold border. In the centre is a miniature of the Resurrection. Christ is in a violet mantle rising from the Tomb, the lid of which is held by an angel. He holds a banner with a red cross. In the foreground are two sleeping soldiers clad in mail. France, 14th century. A duplicate number MS.807 was assigned to this object in error and was subsequently cancelled.

Part of cuttings purchased in batches from William Henry James Weale in 1883, 95 on 9 April 1883, 258 on 17 April 1883, 20 on 20 February, for the total sum of £96.7.2 (now Museum nos 8972-9042).
