| Object history | Costume for San Toy worn by Florence Collingbourn in the musical comedy 'San Toy' at Daly's Theatre, London, October 1899. The book for the production was by Edward Morton; the lyrics were by Harry Greenbank and Adrian Ross; and the music was composed by Sidney Jones with additional music by Lionel Monckton. The production was choreographed by Willie Warde. The scenery was designed by Hawes Craven and Joseph Harker. Percy Anderson designed the costumes for the Chinese characters (made by Miss Fisher & B J Simmons & Co). The English ladies costumes were by Miss Nettleship; hats by Misses F J & L Wilson; Gentlemen's costumes by Cooling & Lawrence; Wigs by Clarkson. Given to the British Theatre Museum Association by the Misses Margetson, with photograph S.108-2016, in August 1963. |
