Physical description

Drawing for a sculptural fountain. A female figure holding a container in her left hand with water spouting up through it stands on a circular platform in a basin set within a larger surrounding basin. Water spouts through sculpted faces on the rims of both the platform and smaller basin to spill over the edges into the larger basin below.

Object history note

This object was once part of an album of designs by various architects, artists and designers collected by the architect Charles James Richardson, and was bought from him by the Museum in 1863.
