Inscribed by the artist, at lower left, in graphite, all tussen de berghout (?) gevult ('all filled in between the wood'); and at lower left corner, in a contemporary Dutch hand (probably the same as annotated cat. no. 270), not that of the artist or his son, in graphite, Konigh Schip ('King's ship'); and inscribed at lower right, in another hand, in brown ink (with the museum's inv. no.), 4666.
