Object history
Martita Hunt played Countess Aurelia in The Madwoman of Chaillotat the Belasco Theatre, New York, opening on 27 December 1948, and again in London at the St. James's Theatre, London, opening on 15 February 1951. The productions were designed by Christian Bérard, but in London Martita Hunt wore costumes designed by Motley.
