This poster was designed to encourage student support of the Black Panther Party. The pairing of the black panther mascot with the bulldog - representative of Yale University's athletic teams - symbolised a united effort against civil rights injustices. This poster probably would have also figured in the Black Panthers' May Day demonstrations.
