Coronation train worn by Vanessa Lee as Christiane in the musical King's Rhapsody, Palace Theatre, London, 1949. Train of deep reddish violet panne velvet embroidered with 'Ruritanian' insignia in gold thread and lined with off white satin. Down the inner front edges and part way round the train is a border of gold tinsel filigree braid. At each shoulder is a loop of gold cord to fit around the arms, and a large hook to fasten the train onto a dress.

Coronation train for Christiane in Act III scene 5 worn by Vanessa Lee in Ivor Novello's musical 'King's Rhapsody' performed at the Palace Theatre, London, 15th September 1949.. The lyrics were by Christopher Hassell and the costumes were designed by Frederick Dawson.
