From a manuscript made for Pope Sixtus IV in 1481, signed and dated by Joachinus de Gigantibus who designates himself as its scribe and illuminator. The volume of 30 leaves in its original binding formerly belonged to Major J.R. Abbey and Sir Sydney Cockerell and is now in Rome at the Biblioteca nazionale centrale Vittorio Emmanuele II, Vitt.Em.1430

Purchased from Otto Mündler in Paris on 22 July 1863 for the price of £4.0.0. Transferred from the Art Museum on 6 April 1868, described as 'in a small wooden frame'.
