About 1896
The Works of Geoffrey Chaucertook four years to complete and was produced shortly before Morris's death. It had 87 original illustrations and a new 'Chaucer' font, as well as 58 ornate letters, borders and frames. It was the Kelmscott Press's crowning achievement and is a testament to Morris's twin passions: medieval themes and the arts of the book.
