    PROOF PAGE for the Prologue to The Works of Geoffrey Chaucer About 1896 The Works of Geoffrey Chaucertook four years to complete and was produced shortly before Morris's death. It had 87 original illustrations and a new 'Chaucer' font, as well as 58 ornate letters, borders and frames. It was the Kelmscott Press's crowning achievement and is a testament to Morris's twin passions: medieval themes and the arts of the book.
