Object history
This cloak was worn in a production of William Shakespeare's play 'Hamlet' performed at the Lyceum Theatre, London, 31st October 1874. The production was produced by H L Bateman, and the scenery was designed by Hawes Craven and H Cuthbert. Henry Irving appeared as Hamlet and Isabel Bateman was Ophelia.

Given to the British Theatre Museum Association by Madge Whiteman in January 1967.
