Large 'musketeer' hat in steel blue stiffened felt with black petersham braid edging, decorated with three scarlet vermilion shaded ostrich feathers. The leather inner band has a towelling sweat band added at the front, bearing traces of make up.

This hat was worn by Harry Secombe as D'Artagnan in the Michael Pertwee, Laurie Johnson, and Herbert Kretzmer's musical 'The Four Musketeers' at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, 1967. Based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas, the show was directed by Peter Coe, choreographed by Donald McKayle, and the fights were directed by William Hobbs. The scenery and lighting was designed by Sean Kenny.
