Production
Acquired as Strasbourg or Frankenthal c. 1755. According to a note in the register there are companion figures attributed to Strasbourg in the Musée des Arts decoratifs, Strasbourg. The 'PH' mark (for Paul Hannong) is an acknowledged mark for Strasbourg and Frankenthal, where the factory later moved.
From a set of the Continents modelled by Johann Wilhelm Lanz for the Strasbourg factory, ca. 1750/51-1754. Lanz later repeated the group at Frankenthal ca. 1760.
