Production
The portrait was modelled in 1815 by Jean-Charles-Nicolas Brachard (1766-1846) called Brachard aîné (see Aileen Dawson, French Porcelain: A Catalogue of the British Museum Collection, 1994, cat. 170). Chavagnac & Grollier (Histoire des Manufactures françaises de Porcelaine, Paris, 1906, p. 340) identify the mark 'Mas' as that of Jean Mascret.
