Acquired as 'Italian (probably Naples)'; reattributed to Tournai ca. 1765 by comparison with examples with similar colouring illustrated in E. J. Soil de Moriamé, Les Porcelaines de Tournay, 1910, and a figure exhibited at the Paris, Musée des Arts Decoratifs loan exhibition of 1929, no. 945.
